Since 1953, when a woman gave this recipe to my mother, it has been a family favorite.
What You Need to make sour cream bundt cake :
- 3 cups of sugar
- 1/2 pound of butter
- 6 eggs, separated
- 2 pinches of vanilla
- 1 tablespoon of juice from a fresh lemon
- 1 cup sour cream
- 3 cups all-purpose flour, sifted before measuring
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 pinch of salt
Instructions to make sour cream bundt cake :
Mix the butter and sugar together, then add the egg yolks one at a time and beat well after each one. Mix the vanilla, fresh cream, and lemon juice.
Sift the flour, salt, and soda together in another bowl. Mix well after adding the sifted dry ingredients to the dough. In another bowl, beat the whites of the eggs until they form stiff peaks.
The egg whites should be mixed into the cake batter. Pour into a tube pan that has been greased and dusted with flour. Bake at 300° for about 1.5 hours, or until the cake is done.
