Jerry Springer, the legendary American TV presenter, has passed away at the age of 79.
A family spokesperson told TMZ he passed away this morning at his home in the Chicago area.
The host was famous for his raucous tabloid talk show, called “Jerry Springer”, which he used to end with the catchphrase, “Take care of yourself and each other”.
The show aired for 27 seasons and nearly 5,000 episodes from 1991 to 2018.
He also hosted America’s Got Talent from 2007 to 2008.
Springer was born in 1944 in London’s Highgate tube station.
His parents, who were German Jewish refugees, were at the station taking shelter from a German bombing raid during World War II at the time.
