Police say they received a 911 call about an injured person at a Little River park. When officers went there, they found a teenager who had been shot in the abdomen and was heading to the hospital in a Honda.
Officers and paramedics took over and took the teen to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he died Wednesday night, the Miami-Dade Police Department says.
Police, who found the teen at 8050 NW Miami Ct. after 4:30 p.m. in an unincorporated part of Miami-Dade outside the Miami city limits, no information on suspects released.

The teen’s mother called her son “very, very smart.”
“We owe this family a little peace, a little closure,” Miami-Dade police spokesman Angel Rodriguez said at the scene.
