Authorities are searching for a fugitive said to have shot a 20-year-old woman in his home on Sunday in an alleged attempt on her life, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said, asking the public for information that could lead to the conviction of the accused. fixation.

Prosecutors issued a warrant for the arrest of Aaron Sierra, 22, of Bergenfield, charging him with attempted murder, receiving stolen property, obstruction of justice and weapons offenses in connection with the alleged botched murder.

Sierra was last known in New York state, prosecutors said. While seeking the public’s help, Musella warned that Sierra should be considered “armed and dangerous.”

Police responded to Sierra’s home on North Taylor Street on Sunday evening after receiving reports of gunfire and found the victim inside with no sign of her attacker, prosecutors said.

She was rushed to Hackensack University Medical Center and was in stable condition Thursday night.

Prosecutors gave no details about what led them to implicate Sierra in the alleged attack, and a spokesman for Musella’s office declined to reveal whether he knew his victim.
